Branch out from the traditional red and green for a dramatic twist on Christmas this year. This stunning black and white Christmas tree with silver and gold accents looks so classic and elegant while striking all at the same time.
Hey friends! I am back today to share my black and white Christmas tree. I hope you all liked my jewel tone Christmas tree that I posted yesterday. While that one was all about color, this one is the complete opposite. I decided on a simple black and white theme for my tree in the dining room this year.
I have to say that I absolutely adore this Christmas tree. The color combination is so timeless and it looks so classic! I love how the black just pops, especially on the flocked Christmas tree.
A few of my favorite things
Not only do I love the color combination, but there are many aspects of the Christmas tree that I like as well. First off is how well the “fake snow” looks on this flocked tree. I have used this hack before on a previous tree but I think it looks even better on this tree. These little puffs of “snow” are actually feather duster refills! Check out this Christmas tree post for all the details on this fake snow!
As far as placement of the ornaments on this black and white Christmas tree, I really am fond of the bigger ornaments on the bottom and how they get smaller as they go up the tree. I feel like it draws the eye up the tree in a nice way. Not only do I like the ornaments, I have to say the combination of the ribbons is on this tree is on point! Isn’t that black and white plaid ribbon so pretty?!
My next favorite thing is the magnolia flowers on the tree! I have never added flowers to a tree before and I am smitten with the look! I found these faux Magnolia flowers at Walmart of all places, but they had red centers. So I just took some black acrylic paint and painted the stem so they would match to my tree better. I think the effect looks fantastic!
Another new thing this year are these crystal chandelier “ornaments”. They are actually just parts for a chandelier, but they work wonderfully as ornaments! 😉 I found them here on Amazon (affiliate link). They add some elegance to the tree and look stunning reflecting the light.
Black and White Dining Room Christmas Decor
To go along with my black and white Christmas tree, I decorated the rest of the dining room in a complimenting theme.
You may remember that I had some branches on the buffet table with my Halloween decor. Well I left them there, but they got an upgrade for winter. 🙂 I had some flocking left over from my DIY flocked Christmas tree, so I decided to flock the branches to make them look frosty. They turned out so pretty!
They remind me of the hoarfrost on trees in winter when it gets REALLY cold! It is so beautiful out when the trees are like that. That is one of the very few things I actually miss about winter after moving to Florida. LOL! Hanging from these branches are the DIY paper stars that I shared last week. These look fabulous next to the tree and coordinate really well. It’s almost like I planned it. 😉
Next to each of the vases are some black, white, silver and gold Christmas trees. These black velvet trees came from Hobby Lobby this year and actually were the reason I chose to do this theme. I thought they looked so striking and wanted to decorate with them!
The white felt cone trees were some that I made several years ago. They definitely make a regular appearance every Christmas as they are so pretty and a neutral color, so it is easy to decorate with them.
On my gold mirror, I hung a flocked wreath with some gold bells. This wreath was one that I flocked previously and it also got an extra layer of flocking this year. The gold bells I have had around for several years. I love their vintage look.
Black and white Christmas table decor
On the table, I used my trusty old DIY dough bowl filled with black, white, silver and gold ornaments. It also has some frosty pine cones thrown in too.
While I love the look of tablescapes, I wanted to keep the table decorations simple this year as we will be using it a lot! Lots of good meals and game playing will be happening here over the next few days. 🙂
Black and white Christmas accents
Around the room, I also added some more black and white Christmas accents like a basket with a pillow, blanket and disco ball, I mean big ornament. Ha! That thing sure does reflect some light when the sun hits it. You do feel like you are at a disco!
On the window seat, I redecorated my three tier tray to go with the theme as well, and added some coordinating pillows.
Next to the buffet table on the floor, I decorated a cute vignette with a lantern and Christmas sign. I think with all the flocked items this year, there is a fine layer of flocking on everything. LOL!
Last but not least, matching presents
Of course, the presents have to match the tree as well! I found some perfect wrapping paper at Target this year to go with my theme. It looks amazing!
I also added a couple cream colored presents to go with the magnolia flowers which are more of a cream than white.
Well, that is all for this year! I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and cheers to a Happy New Year! Let’s make 2024 a great one!
