Brown Christmas Tree with bronze accents

by Kimberly 2 Comments

This beautiful brown Christmas tree with bronze accents is the perfect blend of color and neutrals. It has classic elegance mixed with a modern flair.

It’s finally time that I get to share my Christmas decorating with you! We are starting in the dining room with my brown Christmas tree with bronze and champagne accents.

I decorated two Christmas trees again this year, but I will let you in on a little secret. This is my favorite one! She’s a stunna! 😉

How to make your Christmas tree taller

If you are around here often, you will know that we just moved into this house this year. So this is our first Christmas here. When I put up the Christmas trees this year, I ran into a problem. The ceilings in this house are over 11 feet in most rooms and some areas even higher! So our 7 and 7.5 foot trees look tiny!!! I ended up buying a new 9 foot flocked tree but didn’t want to buy two trees! So I tried to figure out a solution.

How to make your Christmas tree taller on crates

Initially I asked Mr. Wonderful if he could build me a tree stand to make the tree taller, but then I remembered we had some stained crates that we used for our boy’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremonies. We dug those out and initially I put two under the tree because I wanted to cover it with a tree skirt or blanket. Well, needless to say, that did not look too great. So we ended up using all four crates and I used a tree collar on top.

Obviously you can still see the crates, but this does not bother me. Especially with the color scheme going on with the tree! I think this would also look great for a rustic woodland themed tree. Maybe I should do that next year! 😉

Mix elements on your tree

On the tree itself, I used some brown and bronze ornaments that I had gotten years ago at Menards of all places (I also supplemented with some brown ornaments from Hobby Lobby). It was back when you could buy a fully decorated tree after Christmas for very inexpensive! I wish they still did that!! This tree was loaded with all kinds of goodies, including lights, ribbons, baubles and these awesome gem ornaments.

You may also recognize my DIY honeycomb Christmas ornaments on the tree. They look so great on the tree, now I wish I made more! Ha! I did something different with the ribbon on this tree and I am loving it! I still cut my ribbon into about 3 foot long pieces but this time I tied them into bows. Don’t they look so pretty? They literally just sit on the branch. So simple but stunning!

In addition to the brown and bronze ornaments, I added some champagne and silver ones too. I love this color combo, it seems like it is very popular this year. I also added some wood bead garland to bring in a little of the natural wood color. This ties in with the cream honeycomb ornaments and some of the other items around the room.

I love the juxtaposition of mixing some glam elements like bows and gem ornaments with some natural elements like the paper ornaments and wood bead garland. It really gives this brown Christmas tree an elegant look while staying trendy at the same time.

Cluster lights for the win

Even with all the great accents, I think the real star of this tree are the new cluster lights that I put on this year! This Christmas tree had pre-strung lights on it and when I went to plug it in this year, only about 1/4 of them were working! Ugh! So we had to cut off all the old light strings. What a pain in the butt! I ordered these cluster lights (affiliate link) from Amazon and they are amaze-balls!

Neutral Christmas tree

Although now I am glad that happened, since I had an excuse to try the cluster lights that I have been ogling on trees lately. You guys! These lights make such a difference! They are sooooooo gorgeous! The glow at night is magical! I ordered six strands not knowing how many I needed but only used four for this 7.5 foot tree.

Moving onto to the rest of the dining room, I added some garland with lights, bronze gauzy ribbon and ornaments to our Lego storage cabinet, I mean “buffet table”, next to the Christmas tree. 😉

I added some champagne and bronze elements to the top like this lantern. It is filled with mini ornaments, including some of the gems. I added one of the bronze bows on top to tie it into the Christmas tree.

Sitting next to the lantern is one of the DIY raffia Christmas trees I made a couple years ago. Do you remember these? These trees worked perfectly to coordinate with the wood bead garland on the tree. I love reusing items in new ways. They have really held up well!

On the big gold mirror, I added some mini ornaments on a bronze ribbon. I found the mini ornaments at At Home this year! They are glass, look vintage and are super cute!

On the other side, I added some cedar stems that I got from Hobby Lobby into a vase. Next to the vase are more trees and a cute champagne colored glittery deer.

Felt Christmas tree centerpiece

On my dining room table, I made a centerpiece with our DIY sugar mold. You guys know how much I love this thing. It is fun coming up with new ways to use it! In the sugar mold, I put some of the DIY felt Christmas trees that I just shared with you last week.

I staggered the height of the felt trees and added a couple ornaments to the centerpiece to give more visual interest.

What do you think? I really love how it looks! Especially in this picture with the glow of the Christmas tree behind it. See what I mean about the cluster lights? Magical!!

Decorate all available spaces

There is no space left undecorated in here! Even the window seat area has some matching decor! 🙂

Some brown and taupe velvet pillows and a basket full of ornaments really make this space look cozy and tie it into the rest of the room. I also added a couple more of the adorable felt Christmas trees here too. I am honestly surprised our cats have not gotten ahold of them yet or started playing with the ornaments like balls. LOL! At least, they are plastic just in case.

I will be back in a couple days to share my other Christmas tree and mantel. Although, I have to say, I think this turned out to be my favorite area this Christmas. I really LOVE the brown Christmas tree and color scheme in here. It looks fantastic with all the wood accents. Chat soon friends!

Hi Kay!! Thank you so much! Unfortunately this was some of the ribbon that I got years ago at Menards on the fully decorated tree that I got for a discount after Christmas. So it isn’t available anymore. But if you Google bronze colored ribbon, you may find some similar. Good luck!
