Yesterday I shared my Christmas mantel with you, today it is going to be my Christmas tablescape. I am joining up with some other blogging friends to share our Christmas table settings. Make sure to check out the links at the bottom of the post for some more Christmas tablescape inspiration! I went a different route for colors with my table decor than I did with my mantel. I have loved buffalo plaid for a while and found a tablecloth at Hobby Lobby. From then on, I knew I would be doing a buffalo plaid Christmas tablescape. The question was what colors to pair it with?
I found these napkins on clearance at Target from the Hearth and Home line, they have a couple black lines on them so they were perfect to pair with the buffalo plaid! They photograph more of a teal color, but in real life they look forest green.
The napkins needed a little more color so I decided to add some berries for pops of red. I love the classic red and green Christmas color combination with the buffalo plaid, don’t you?
I put some of the berry picks into my jar vases to coordinate with the napkins. The picks fit perfectly around the candle. I just alternated them right side up and upside down. It is a super easy Christmas decor idea that you could use anywhere in your house.
The jar vases flank our vintage ceramic Christmas tree. Do you remember these? I remember my grandma had one and this one came from Mr. Wonderful’s grandma. Pretty sure everyone’s grandparents had one. Ha!
These ceramic trees are actually making their way back into the decorating scene. I have seen them lately at several different stores although on a smaller scale. When we got it initially, the little light bulbs were missing. So for a while we just used light bright pegs! 🙂 But I was pleased to see recently that you can order the replacement bulbs on Amazon so I got some white and colored ones.
We were also missing the light so we used some fairy lights inside the tree to light it up. The tree is painted with different shades of green and matched with the napkins really well.
This tablescape is full of vintage items. These glasses are ones I found at a thrift store and they remind me of some my grandma had. I got them for that reason and have used them once before on an Easter tablescape. They are so pretty, I love to use them!
I made these cute little Christmas tree placeholders to go on the napkins. I couldn’t decide which paper I liked better between the plaid and the dots. So I decided to make them double sided and alternate the patterns.
They were really easy to make, I just glued the different patterned pieces of scrapbook paper on each side of a piece of card stock. Then I traced some trees onto the paper and cut them out. Punch a hole in the top and you have a placeholder, napkin ring or they could even be ornaments with a longer string!
A piece of ribbon doubles for a napkin ring in a pinch!
I decided the whole buffalo plaid tablecloth was a little much for this tablescape so I folded it up and used it as a table runner instead. I am sure I will use it in the future as a tablecloth so no worries there!
The nice thing about this centerpiece is that I can keep the table runner, Christmas tree and jar vases up all season as decoration!
Don’t forget to check out the tablescapes below. See you tomorrow for Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas series. Are you loving all this Christmas inspiration? I hope so! 😉

I LOVE your tablescape. It’s so darling and the three wreaths in the window tie the whole look together. It’s wonderful.
Thank you Sue!! 🙂
I have all the heart eyes for that buffalo check! Your table is beautiful!
Thanks Amanda!! I love it too!
I remember so well the ceramic Christmas trees. I love that you found replacement bulbs! I just found a replacement bulb for an old piece of Christmas decor and was thrilled. When I was a teen, we had a set of those glasses in an amber color! Love your vintage tablescape.
LOL…that is great! I love decorating with vintage items, especially if they are memories from our childhood! Thanks Shirley!!
Love the buffalo check but my favorite detail is the ceramic tree!! We had one of those when I was growing up 🙂
Thanks Lora! I think they are a staple of everyone’s childhood Christmas memories. 😉
The red berries are so perfect with the green and buffalo check!
Thanks Tylynn! 🙂
Love all of this! You can really never go wrong with buffalo check, right? And totally saw those napkins at Target – they didn’t have enough to make a set but I was eyeing them up for sure!! 😛 Thanks for joining in on this hop and have a Merry Christmas!

Kelly
