Decorate for the Easter season with this beautiful and colorful spring mantel. Instead of the traditional soft pastel colors, try some bright colors for a bold look!
Happy Spring! Today I am sharing my colorful Spring mantel with some simple Easter touches. You can easily remove the Easter decor to get more leverage out of this mantel. In fact, it could even work for summer too!
I was inspired to decorate with these bold colors when I saw this stunning artwork at Hobby Lobby. I knew that it would be coming home with me eventually. Ha! I thought about decorating with it for summer but decided to do spring instead. You don’t usually see bright colors for Easter decorating, so I thought I would try something new. π
I love the dramatic look it has with the color combinations and also the texture of the paint. There are way more colors in there than you notice at first as well.
I pulled out some of the colors with my pillow assortment. I debated on doing just a few colors in the pillows to let the mantel be the focal piece. In the end, I thought the colorful pillows looked good against the neutral couch. The more color the better! What do you think?
Add some spring florals
On each side, I added some floral arrangements to my colorful spring mantel. I actually had all the faux flowers on hand, most of which have come from Hobby Lobby, all except these big gorgeous roses. I was looking for some flowers to match the deep magenta color in the painting. My Mom was down to visit and we went on the hunt for some flowers. We found these roses at Michaels and they were a perfect match! After dinner, we put together the arrangements.
We initially had them in glass vases because that is the only ones that I had two of. However, I wasn’t really liking how they looked so I tried one of these white vases that I had one of already. My MIL was down the next week and we ran to Hobby Lobby to see if they still had these white vases there and they had one left! Whew! π I am glad they had one because I think these white vases looked much better!
Add some Easter decor
I added a couple Easter bunnies and some of these pretty floral Easter eggs that I shared with you last week. Check out the tutorial to learn how to make them. They really are beautiful, especially in person. I tried to find flower sequins that would coordinate with the colors in the painting. You would think that would be easy but most of them are also pastel in color. I think these worked out pretty well.
I laid the eggs on some greenery that ties in well with the colors in the painting and the greenery in the floral arrangements.
It really is a simple mantel, but makes a big statement because of all the bold colors in it!
On the other side of the room, I added the rest of the eggs into our DIY sugar mold. Don’t look too closely, I forgot to dust it before I took the pictures. LOL! Oh well, that’s real life for you. Just know, things are not always as they seem in pictures and on social media. The pictures of that side of the room may look great, but if they turned around and took a picture of the other side… π
When my mom and mother-in-law were down (two consecutive weeks), they both helped me with some of these flowered eggs. I don’t think it was either of their favorite projects, to be honest. The eggs are a little intricate to make. They ended up using regular yarn instead of the thin yarn, which worked too. Hot glue was everywhere, let me tell you! Ha! We decorated some bigger eggs too using the same method.
It is a project worth doing though in my opinion. I love how the floral Easter eggs turned out and I will have them forever. π
I hope you all have a happy Easter! Chat soon friends!
