Hey guys! I am back today as promised with my Halloween hot cocoa bar! Since our Disney inspired hot cocoa bar last Christmas was such a hit with the kids, I thought it would be fun to make a Halloween themed one. Plus, it made a great treat at our Halloween party after we were all a little chilly from gallivanting all over town for our video scavenger hunt. π
It also worked as a great spot to hold some plates and napkins for our party.
This is the wall that the clock on our spooky Halloween mantel usually goes on. But I think these creepy pictures fit better for our Halloween theme. Notice how they change when you look at them from different angles?
We have had these pictures for years, probably since our first Halloween party in 2006. I am not even sure where we got them but they have been fun to decorate with over the years. π
I made up this free printable to go along with our Halloween hot cocoa bar. Feel free to use it for your own! π
Of course you can use any toppings you want to but it can’t be a Halloween theme without candy corn, right?
You don’t have to make a cocoa bar really fancy. I just used some pint sized mason jars for all the toppings and added some cute ribbons to the jars.
I added a few skulls that were left over decor from my mantel decorating and these fabric wrapped Styrofoam balls. Just use some strips of fabric to cover the balls and you have a great vase filler or instant color for your vignettes!
These patterned straws are a fun way to add festiveness to a food display.
Finish it off with some pumpkins and a spider and you are all set!
I used some fabric I had around for a tablecloth and covered it with a couple pieces of gauze cloth. Gauze cloth is a great addition for any Halloween display. I pick them up at the dollar store and use them over and over every year.
Hot cocoa bars are easy to make and just plain fun! The kiddos love them and maybe it will help to keep you warm while trick or treating this year or next!
