Dress up your table this summer with this sweet lemon tablescape. This is a simple tablescape that you could leave up for a refreshing splash of color to brighten your day!
I am continuing on the lemon theme this week with this adorable lemon summer tablescape. I love decorating tablescapes, especially when they are practical ones that I can leave up for a while to make the table look pretty. π
This tablescape was inspired by these green plates that I borrowed from a friend, thanks again Betsy! π She had some vintage dishes that I borrowed for a lovely Easter tablescape a couple years ago and last year she let me borrow a couple more vintage sets.
With our move, I didn’t have time to post the tablespaces that I decorated last summer. I thought this would be the perfect time to share this lemon summer tablescape since I was decorating with lemons last week. I will be sharing the other tablescape a little later this summer.
When I saw the green plates, I knew it would be a little more difficult to use them since they were a bold color, but I was up to the challenge! I had another idea to do a cute tropical theme with pink and orange but the lemons won out as I already had some of the other things I needed. #practicalitywinsoutagain
One of those things were these gold silverware! I had gotten this set for Christmas and had not used them yet, so I was itching to do that. I knew they would go well with the lemons.
Speaking of the lemons, they are just faux lemons. You could use real ones as well, but the faux ones last a lot longer. I created this centerpiece using our DIY dough bowl and filling it with a mix of some faux and real greenery and the lemons.
Since the lemons and most of the greenery was faux, I was able to leave the centerpiece up all summer. Even when the plates and glasses came down. π
I decided to use black and white neutrals for the rest of the tablescape since the green plates and lemons were such bold colors. I love the color combination, don’t you?
Here is an easy hack for you, if you don’t have a table runner, just use a tablecloth and fold it into thirds lengthwise. That is exactly what I did here as I already had a houndstooth tablecloth but did not have a runner. Houndstooth just makes everything look better, amirite?
I used my trusty ice tea glasses as I am not much of a wine drinker. I don’t even own wine glasses anymore. We got some for our wedding and only used them once in probably 10 years. So I decided to sell them on a garage sale.
However, I love iced tea so these glasses are perfect! On the tea front, are you a sweet or unsweet tea person? I came from the Midwest so I am in the unsweet club. We recently moved to Florida, man do they love their sweet tea down here! Insert puking emoji here. LOL #Sorrynotsorry to all you Southerners! π
What do you think of the tablescape, would you use green plates? I would love to get my hands on the plates again to create the other tablescape I had in mind, but sadly that won’t be happening since we moved away. Maybe I will have to scour some garage sales down here.
I will be back later this week, all of these lemons are making me crave something sweet, how about you? Have a wonderful day!

Hi Kimberly, Your lemon tablescape sings of summer brightness and freshness of beautiful lemons! It’s absolutely enchanting. I would definitely use the green plates! Green and white are my favorite color combination, I decorate our home every Christmas in green and white only and the bright yellow lemon plays off of the green plate in such a fresh, summery way. Your dough bowl centerpiece glows on your table with the riotous greenery and lemons playing wherever they want in their simple wood playground. Looking at this makes me thirsty for a glass of fresh hand-squeezed homemade lemonade! Thank you for sharing your lovely spot of summer!

Awwww, thank you Annie! You have such a way with words, you make me feel so great! You should be a writer, if you are not already that is! π So glad to hear you would use green plates too. They were fun to use! Have a wonderful weekend.
