Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to be hard. This modern farmhouse Easter decor in the dining room shows how simple touches can easily make the room look festive.
Easter weekend is coming up quick! Do you have everything ready? The meal is probably planned but is your house decorated? Do you even bother to decorate for Easter? Holiday decor does not have to be extensive, you can add a few simple touches like this modern farmhouse Easter decor in my dining room.
Some people may call this decorating more than simple, and I get that! While it is a bit of decor, it is really easy to recreate this look! How to get this look is what I am referring to as simple in this decorating. π Or you can just pick out a few things that you like and do those! My theory in decorating is do what makes you happy! I know I may go against the grain but I say, don’t worry so much about following the newest trends, decorate how you like to!
Buffet table Easter decor
On my buffet table, I used a couple tall glass vases and filled them with speckled pastel colored Easter eggs and floral branches. I love how this looks! I wish I could keep this up longer, I may have to see what I can replace the eggs with to recreate this look for the rest of spring.
Next, I added an adorable bunny picture that I found at Wal-Mart of all places! Isn’t it cute? I kept the gold candlesticks on the buffet table from my Valentines Day decor because they went so well with the gold mirror and the frame of the bunny picture.
Next I added a couple green mossy bunnies I got from the Target dollar spot.
To add in a little green on the other side, I added a boxwood wreath in front of the mirror.
To finish off the look, I added another bunny next to the vase on the other side. These are all simple but effective ways to decorate for Easter!
Modern farmhouse Easter decor in the dining room
I kept my Easter tablescape simple as well this year. If you know me by now, you know that my tablescape has to coordinate with my buffet table. π To achieve this, I used more dark greenery, pastel eggs and bunnies.
This is a super easy Easter centerpiece idea… my dough bowl is filled with some green sheet moss and more of the pastel eggs. If you don’t have a dough bowl, you can create this same look with a big basket or tray. I also placed a couple bunnies in the dough bowl. Initially, I wanted to find some new bunnies this year to put in the dough bowl but ended up just using what I had on hand.
Here is a money saving tip for you… don’t be afraid to reuse your decor! It will always look different in the new setting. Case in point, I used these bunnies and glasses on this soft and lovely Easter tablescape years ago, but they look different now, right? Just by using them in a new way and using a different color scheme, they give a totally different feel. Plus, no one will ever know or keep track. If they do, then they have a big problem!! Hahaha!
Decorating your Easter table
For the place settings, I used my new DIY bunny napkin rings that I just shared with you all! They turned out really well and I know I will use these in the future too!
I used a couple different chargers, water hyacinth and gold ones, that coordinate well with buffet table Easter decor. Then added a couple simple white plates. White plates are great staples to have on hand for your tablescapes. They will always go with everything and you can easily change out the accessories to decorate for the different seasons. I used my vintage Fostoria glass glasses since they have a touch of soft green to them, like the napkins.
Lastly, I also like to coordinate the window ledge with the rest of the modern farmhouse Easter decor in the dining room, so I added a little Easter basket vignette and some matching pillows. We made this framed bunny picture years ago by cutting out a bunny silhouette on kraft cardstock and backing it with a pink fabric. It is so pretty and elegant looking and I love it! So I keep it around and reuse it. π
Hopefully, you got some inspiration for simple Easter decorating ideas from this post and you can put them into action for this weekend. Have a wonderful Easter holiday!
