Decorating for summer is easy as peach pie! Using fruit for summer decorating is a natural choice. This pretty peach decor brings a summery vibe to any room.
Hey guys! I am back today to share my summer peach decor with you all! Recently, I shared two versions of DIY peaches with you, needle felted peaches and fabric peaches. Which ones did you like better? If you missed those posts, check out the tutorials! You will see both featured in my peachy decor here.
When I am decorating, I love to incorporate seasonal items and/or themes. Summer decorating is easy when you think about what you associate with summer. Is it going the the beach? Then do a coastal theme! How about the 4th of July? Then a patriotic theme is easy! Eating delicious, juicy fruit is always a great summer recollection, so this year I have based my dining room decorations around that including a simple peach tablescape!
This isn’t the first time I have decorated with a fruit theme. I used strawberries a couple years ago and made some adorable fabric strawberries for that too. That is what gave me the idea to make peaches out of fabric this time. I am sure I will make more fruit in the future as it is fun and they are so stinking cute!
Tablescape with peaches
On my simple peach tablescape, I used these vintage plates that I got from my Mom when we moved out long ago. π She gave us lots of kitchen dishes and pots & pans which we desperately needed at the time. We still use those pots and pans to this day and I feel like they are probably better than anything they sell nowadays!
The pretty turquoise colored flowers on the plates were the perfect addition to the peach color from the peaches. Orange and blue are complementary colors on the color wheel, since they sit across from each other. Peach and turquoise/aqua are tones of orange and blue so they pair wonderfully together! I added other turquoise/aqua elements into the decor around the room as well.
The aqua colored DIY cloth napkins were some that I made several years ago when I decorated a coastal tablescape. I am a big proponent for reusing items I have already in decorating, so it gave me some pleasure to bring them out to use again. π
I used some of the fabric peaches as place settings in this tablescape. You could easily replace them with real peaches if you don’t want to make the fabric version, but where is the fun in that? π
Simple peach centerpiece
For the center of the table , I added a neutral table runner with a peach gauzy one then topped both with some faux greenery. I found the peach runner (affiliate link) on Amazon and it worked perfectly for my color combo. While the faux greenery may not look as great as real, it sure lasts a lot longer and is less expensive in the long run! You only have to buy it once! Ha! That is a win in my book!
For the centerpiece, I added some of the felt peaches that I made with some Lamb’s Ear sprigs in a small dough bowl. The Lamb’s Ear is bluish-green in color so it worked well with the turquoise/aqua accents.
How precious are these little felt peaches? While I love how the fabric ones turned out, I think I am partial to these felted ones just because of how charming they are!!
Sidetable Peach Decor
In addition to the peach table setting, I also decorated around the room. This sideboard (aka lego storage unit) is always a focal point in my dining room decorating. I left it styled very similar to my vintage Valentine’s day decor using the vintage printer press trays.
The printer trays are perfect for holding small things like hearts and tiny peaches. π
I found this peach tin sign also on Amazon, but it looks like they are out now. There are lots of similar ones available though.
In front of the printer trays, I added some aqua beads with more fabric peaches.
On each side of the sideboard are some vases with more Lamb’s Ear to tie into the table centerpiece. I also added these peach flowers onto some faux branch stems that I already had for a pop of the peach color. In front of the vases, I placed some vintage books with a peach on top.
I also added in some colored glass pieces that coordinated with the color scheme and more wood elements.
Lastly, I felt like I needed something with a little height next to the printer trays, so I added these farmhouse candlesticks.
Window Seat Decor
Another area that I love to decorate in the dining room is this window seat. I always add some coordinating pillows and usually something else.
This time I used my three tiered tray with peach accents and greenery. Check out the multi-patterned peaches that I made up. Aren’t they fun?!
