Is everyone ready for Easter this weekend? Are the eggs hidden and the food prepared? Probably not yet, it is a bit early for that! However it is not too early to plan out your tablescape! Hopefully this soft and lovely Easter tablescape will bring you some inspiration.
I decorated a spring tablescape a couple weeks ago with bright and cheery colors. While I ended up going with that fun & bright color scheme, I had debated on doing a soft pastel color scheme as well. I couldn’t make up my mind so I just decided to do both! π
This tablescape was inspired by these gorgeous vintage plates! Aren’t they lovely? These were lent to me from a friend to use on a tablescape…. thanks Betsy! I immediately knew I wanted to use them for a spring or Easter table setting because the colors were so soft. Turns out she has lots of vintage dishes she said I could borrow so I think I will be taking her up on that offer! π
I set this quaint little tablescape on our smaller kitchen table because there were only 4 of the vintage plates. You could easily set this on a bigger table with 6 or 8 place settings. The centerpiece is large enough to work on our big dining room table as well.
I pulled some colors out of the plates to use for the rest of the tablescape. I already had these blue cloth napkins that I had made previously and they matched pretty well to the blue in the plates. Well good enough that I was going to use them anyway. I love pairing the different shaped plates. Initially I was not sure how it would look, but I love it! I think it gives the settings so much interest!
Originally I thought about making some mini pies or tarts to go on each plate, but in the end I took the easy way out and bought some. π They sell these mini pies at Walmart for .50 cents each! Sounds like a good deal to me! They are actually really good too! I bought one to test it out on one the plates and of course we had to eat it afterwards. Can’t let good food go to waste, right?Β Such a sacrifice, I tell ya!
These mini pies would be so fun to serve as dessert on Easter Sunday. Who wouldn’t love an individual pie? I got all apple pies but they had lots of flavors to choose from. They are so pretty with the satin ribbon tied around them. You could easily add some tags with names for place settings to the ribbon as well.
I found these great vintage glasses to go with the vintage plates at a thrift shop for $2.99 for all four! Score! They are so pretty! I had to clean them up a little as they had some lime build up on them but I saw the potential there! π I love how the light plays off of all the angles on the glass. They are so beautiful! They remind me of some glasses that my Grandma had. So of course I had to buy them.Β β₯
I had a vision in my head for this tablescape of using a sugar mold and putting eggs in each hole. However we did not have a sugar mold… yet! I looked into buying one, but where is the fun in that when you can make one yourself! π Mr. Wonderful to the rescue again! He made me this amazing DIY sugar mold! Isn’t it awesome?
Plus it gets even better! The huge piece of wood we had to get for this project is big enough to make a couple more smaller sugar molds out of it too! So I will have a couple more to decorate with on my mantel or just around the house. Oh yeah, and all for less expensive than buying the one large sugar mold! Yay!!!
I stuffed some Spanish moss into each hole in the sugar mold and added an egg. This is exactly what I envisioned in my head. Love it when that happens! It is not a guarantee, you know? Ha! If you have ever worked with Spanish moss then you know it makes a mess!! So make sure to do this part before you lay out the rest of the table.
I shared a tutorial a couple days ago for these DIY painted speckled eggs. I painted them to match the colors in the plates. Luckily I had the paint on hand already and they match very well. I was pleased with how the eggs turned out. The nice thing about them is that I can use them not only for Easter but spring decorating too. I am sure they will get a lot of use in the future for spring decor.
These cute little bunnies came from the Target dollar spot. The gold ears on the bunnies tie in perfectly with the gold trim on the plates and the chargers! With all the gold accents, I decided to leave the silverware off of the table since my silverware is all silver. This would look so good with gold silverware if you have it. If not, I am sure your guests will overlook the faux pas of mixing the two metals. π In reality, I am sure nobody would even notice!
I hope this has given you some ideas to make your Easter tablescape more lovely. Have a wonderful holiday!

Thanks so much Tonya! π
Beautiful! And I love the blue vintage plates! Mr. Wonderful did a great job on the sugar mold … I knew the minute I saw this that he’d made it. Such talent you two have!
Awwww…thanks Paula! He is pretty great! π
Your tablescape is beautiful! I went to our local Walmart yesterday and found the DIY eggs! Although I might now get much use out of them this year, I will have a head start for next year! Two more things, I grew up drinking out of those same glasses! Oh, how I’d love to have those now. Also, I agree with you about the Walmart tarts! They were our source of desert while on a drive to and from Alaska and now every stop in between!
Oh my gosh! That is so funny about the glasses! Love that! The nostalgia is what I loved about them too! I am so glad you found the eggs! You will be all set! Thanks for your comment, love to hear stories like that! Have a great Easter! π
Your table is beautiful. Your glasses are probably Fostoria glass, American pattern.
Thanks so much Susan! Good to know, I would not have know what they were. π
This table is beautiful! What is the pattern name of the blue plates?
Thanks Diana! Unfortunately, I do not know the pattern. I borrowed the plates from a friend. They are lovely though!
Love it! Super cute!
