Spring is right around the corner. Decorate for the season with this lovely spring vignette full of flowers, birds and butterflies!
Hello spring! Is it feeling like spring yet where you are? It has been really gorgeous here lately. The butterflies are out and the flowers are blooming! It motivated me to decorate this pretty spring vignette.
Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be…
That is an understatement! Isn’t is amazing how everything can go from drab and dirty in the winter to so vivid and colorful in a short couple of months? Seeing those first buds on trees and plants sprouting out of the ground is such an uplifting feeling. I have always loved spring, not only for the fact that the dreaded winter was over, but also just for how beautiful everything is.
Most people think Florida only has one season, SUMMER, but that is not true. While we don’t have the dramatic seasonal changes like up North, there are subtle changes to mark each season. You just have to pay attention and know what to look for. I can see spring is here now. The only caveat is that all the seasons, except summer, are very short. Don’t blink or you might miss them. 😉
How to create a spring vignette
This spring vignette was fun to put together. I wanted to create a look that I did not have to buy anything new for and I think I accomplished that well. If you follow along with my blog, you may recognize some of this decor from past tutorials and blog posts. The arrangement on top of the murphy bed has been the same for a while as you can see in my dining room Christmas decor and fall farmhouse decor posts. I just change out the accent pieces to coordinate with the season.
A tip for seasonal decorating
This is an easy way to change up your decorations for the seasons. Keep some bigger staple features but change out the smaller details. The big interchangeable sign in the middle is perfect for this. This sign was originally designed to go on our front porch, but we don’t really have a great space for that anymore so I use it inside. This spot works wonderfully!
I am able to change out the words on the front of the sign to coordinate with the seasons. I wanted to reuse my DIY spring wooden blocks again, so I used them in conjunction with the ‘Hello’ sign. I love the resulting hello spring sentiment.
In front of the sign is my DIY sugar mold, which I first turned on it’s side to decorate my lemon summer sideboard. Since then I haven’t turned back! 🙂 I love this new way of decorating with the sugar mold.
If you don’t have the resources (aka Mr. Wonderful) to make a sugar mold, you could always buy one. 😉 Here are a 12 hole sugar mold and a 6 hole sugar mold (affiliate links) that I found on Amazon. It is a very versatile piece of decor that I use all the time.
I added some Spanish moss and sheet moss to the holes, then adorned them with mini eggs, birds and butterflies. I think it is so adorable! What do you think?
Speaking of the butterflies, I shared these cute DIY butterfly decorations with you last week.
As I talked about in that post, they have so many uses, but I think they look adorable “flying” all over in this vignette, don’t you?
I cut smaller pieces of command strips to use to adhere the 3D paper butterflies to the different surfaces.
Spring tiered tray decor
This three tiered tray is another great staple decor piece to use to decorate seasonally.
Of course, since this is a spring tiered tray, I used things like birds, nests, butterflies and flowers to decorate it.
I really like how this DIY fabric flower garland looks draped on and around the three tiered tray. It is another example of a project that I made several years ago, but I love that I am able to use it again.
When in doubt, add some flowers
On the other side of the spring vignette is this big vase with some purple flowers. You can never go wrong using flowers in your spring decor. It doesn’t matter if they are real or faux, flowers are a sure sign of spring!
I also added some greenery and purple succulents in this birdcage. And more butterflies, of course! 🙂
I will be back next week with some Easter decor. Have a great weekend!

Just beautiful…. Love the purple, lavender lace accents. Purple is my favourite colour. Even my first car was purple!!!! So many great ideas. I will be busy this weekend creating spring accents for our home. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you Jaci! Purple is my favorite as well! It was fun decorating with it. 🙂
I love the fabric birds. Were they a DIY project?
Unfortunately, no, they are both birds I have had for a while. I think one of them may have come in a plant originally. 🙂 It would be a cool DIY project though!
