Hello!! If you are new here, welcome and feel free to browse around. π I am happy to be once again joining some talented bloggers for this tablescape blog hop. It is always fun to see what everyone else comes up with. I love how my summer wildflowers tablescape turned out and am excited to share it with you today! If you are wanting more summer tablescape inspiration, make sure to check out all the links at the bottom of this post!
The theme for my tablescape was inspired by these embroidered napkins. These DIY embroidered napkins were my first attempts at hand embroidery and I gotta say, I am pretty proud of the results! I also really enjoyed it! I have to thank my MIL because if it wasn’t for her, I may not have tried it at all! π My MIL was able to score a good deal on embroidery thread and asked if I was interested in some. At first I was not sure because I did not do embroidery (yet!) and could not think of many projects I would use the thread for. Well after some looking on Pinterest, I quickly changed my mind and got some of the thread from her.
I watched some You Tube videos (gotta love You tube!) and started practicing. It really didn’t take long to catch on and I was embroidering in no time! I hope to make up some of my own videos soon to show you all how I made the napkins.
I love the look of wildflowers so I decided to embroider some different wildflowers on each napkin. By the way, I found these napkins on Amazon. They are the perfect material for embroidering on, but also would look great just plain as well. They come in packs of 12 so I have extra plain ones to use in the future. I love the crocheted edge. Aren’t they pretty?
The napkins were made first and when making them, I envisioned my tablescape with lots of different colored wildflowers. It was beautiful in my mind! π Well nature did not supply all the colors I was envisioning! I went out searching for wildflowers in fields and ditches. The only colors I could find were purple, yellow, and a few pink. Where are all the orange and blue wildflowers at?
Quite honestly, I even had to supplement the ones I found with some supermarket flowers. I guess nature did not get my memo that I was looking for all colors of wildflowers. Ha! They must live on a secluded mountainside somewhere far, far away.Β Oh well, this tablescape still looks beautiful, it just has a few less colors than the one in my mind.
I realize too that some of these flowers are probably just weeds, but I don’t care. There is beauty in everything if you know where to look!
I was excited to use my DIY sugar mold again on this tablescape. It is so versatile. You can see it in action on my Easter tablescape as well. These bud vases fit nicely into the holes and were perfect to put some flowers into.
I just used some votive candle holders as small vases in the three holes on each end. Originally, I thought about using all bud vases in the 12 holes, but I like the varying heights of the flowers.
I didn’t want the table runner to compete with the colorful flowers so I used a simple roll of burlap tied on the ends.
The same idea was used for napkin rings. I did not want to take away from the beauty of the embroidery, so I just used a piece of twine.
I hope you enjoyed my summer wildflowers tablescape! Don’t forget to check out the other tablescapes below for more ideas! Have a wonderful day!

Your embroidery is amazing! I can’t believe that’s the first thing you’ve embroidered! Your table is gorgeous!
Thanks so much Amanda! It just seemed really easy for me, I guess I have a knack for it. You never know until you try new things, right? π

Awwww! Thanks so much Janet!
Your embroidery is beautiful. Isn’t You Tube wonderful. I still have some faded and worn pillow cases I embroidered by in the later 70’s but I have not embroidered in years. Now I am inspired by your beautiful napkins. Love the purple and yellow flowers together!
Thanks Shirley! That is awesome, hope you will try it again. I have some pillowcases that my Grandma made from years ago. I love them!! π
Your embroidery is BEAUTIFUL! I love all the different colors you used. Where did you find the tall skinny vases? I have a small sugar mold and never know what to do with it. I love the idea of putting vases into it!
Thanks so much Jessica! I found the bud vases at Walmart but also saw them at Target. They work perfect for a sugar mold! Have a great day! π
I adore your table! Your centerpiece is gorgeous and just makes me smile looking at it. And the napkins, there are no words. Just lovely.

Thanks so much Sue! It was a really pretty tablescape. I left it up until the flowers died because I did not want to take it down. π
Oh my goodness, you totally knocked hand embroidery outta the park – they’re adorable! And I am such a sucker for wildflowers – your centerpiece is beautiful π Thank you for joining in on the hop!
