I love all the warm colors associated with fall, don’t you? The golds, reds, oranges and greens are so beautiful together that I knew I wanted to incorporate these into our Thanksgiving mantel.
While I love farmhouse style, it is occurring to me that I tend to decorate with more color than is seen in your typical farmhouse blogs. Maybe I should say I love farmhouse style with color. 🙂
My most favorite piece on this mantle is our new DIY tobacco basket! I am in love with it. It turned out so great! I have been wanting one for a long time, but I could not bring myself to pay the amount of money that an authentic tobacco basket costs. So, of course, we made one ourselves. If you want to make one as well, check out the tutorial in the link above.
I knew I wanted to make a banner for my mantel but I could not decide on what to have it say. My indecision proved to be a positive thing this time. Because of it I came up with a great idea…. a flip banner! This way you can have one banner that incorporates multiple sayings. It would be great to use for different holidays as well instead of having to make several different banners. 🙂 Stay tuned for a tutorial on that as well.
Aren’t these heirloom pumpkins so cool? They are the perfect shape for stacking. 🙂
I have had this cute turkey for years, I am not even sure where he came from but he makes an appearance almost every year for a couple short weeks.
Although last year our Thanksgiving mantel was turkey free. Since I was not blogging last year, I wanted to share an old picture. If anyone out there is a Disney lover, you will appreciate this mantel. We took a trip to Disney World in December 2015 so we incorporated some Disney decorating into our mantel in anticipation of our trip. We were inspired by the fall decorations at Disney and wanted ours to look similar. We call it our Mickey Mantel. 😉
The Mickey pumpkin still made an appearance this year just not on the mantel. 🙂
I hoped you enjoyed our colorful Thanksgiving mantel. Do you use a lot of color in your decorating or just stick with neutrals?
