Have I said yet how much I LOVE this tree? No, well I am saying it now. I LOVE it! This is my favorite tree that I have ever decorated!
I think mostly because for the longest time I have ogled over the trees from Craftberry Bush. I just loved how she added “snow” to her tree! It was beautiful and I wanted to try it. I learned her secret from this post and ordered some of my own dusters. That’s right! The snow is dusters from The Dollar Tree! Can you believe it? She is a genius! Her dusters are a little more billowy than these but I still love these ones. I ordered a case (which is 24 packs of 2) and that was adequate to cover my 7.5 foot tree. Although next year I may get more! Update: the dusters I ordered are not carried anymore but these ones are similar.
I knew that I wanted to have a silver and gold theme to my Christmas decor this year, but I also wanted to add in another color. I originally thought about doing a mint green color but it was hard to find decorations in mint green without it coming with other pastels like pink and blue. However, I did find these pistachio green colored ornaments at Hobby Lobby along with a green tree that is sitting on my mantel. This color was close enough to mint that I was happy with how it turned out. In fact, I think the color combination is so pretty. And even though the pictures look fantastic, I wish you could see it in person. It is even more beautiful with all the twinkling lights!
I also found these great big ornaments at the Dollar Tree! They were so much cheaper here than anywhere else.
I also have to say I am really happy with my DIY flocked tree! I think it looks lovely with the gold and silver. It does still get some flocking dust all over when you jostle it around. I imagine it is from areas that did not get wet down enough. I guess we will see how it fares after packing it away for the season. We do a pickle ornament at our house each year and one day I came home to see the boys searching in this tree for the pickle! They were covered in flocking! LOL I guess I should have let them know sooner that it would not be hidden in this tree. 🙂
I love wrapping our presents to match the colors on our tree. I just started doing that a couple years ago and I will never go back! It looks so pretty this way!
You may recognize this DIY wooden bead ornament from way back on Day 1! That seems so long ago, doesn’t it?
These vintage ornaments came from my Grandma’s tree! I love them! I am sure she will get a kick out of seeing them on my tree now. 🙂
Here is another blog hop project. Remember this cute little DIY snowman? I love how he ties into the tree colors. Doesn’t the tree look beautiful in the background?
I will be back tomorrow to share my mantel with you, wait, I mean in a couple days, or maybe a week! I need a rest! 🙂 Yes, I know you have seen some snippets here and there of the mantel but I felt like it needed it’s own post. There will also be some overall pictures of the decor in the room. Here is a sneak peek with the DIY cone trees you saw earlier.
Thank you for coming along with me for these 12 days of Christmas! It has been fun! I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. Merry Christmas!

Your tree is beautiful. The snow on it looks amazing, who knew dusters would work.
Kimberly says
Thanks Jenny! I know, right? Thankfully there are so many creative bloggers out there to come up with these ideas! 😉
This is stunning. I love how everything came together. It looks so chic!
Awww, you are so kind! Thanks so much Yami!
I can see why this is your favorite! I love Craftberry Bush’s trees too, and you did a great job with the dollar store dusters! I like them even better because they’re so affordable. I will be checking back next year on you great trees!
Thanks so much Trisha! I was very happy with the price of the dusters too! I know my trees are not up to her level yet, but maybe someday. 🙂
The pistachio color is beautiful! And I love the snow too! I’ve always wrapped presents one wrapping paper per child, but I commented this year I needed to get new paper that coordinates with the tree better… But I’m also thinking of all brown paper with different colored ribbons for each person!
Thanks Emily! I agree about the all brown paper with different ribbon. I want to try that as well!
