Learn how to make this adorable scrapbook paper Easter Bunny Garland! It is quick and easy to make and can be adapted to fit any color scheme depending on the paper you use!
Hi friends! I’m back today to share the other garland that I made this year along with my mantel all decorated up for Easter. This super cute Easter Bunny garland was made in one afternoon with all of supplies being ones that I already had on hand. You may already have them too! So essentially, this garland was free for me. 😉
I already shared the tutorial for the beautiful bow garland on the mantel, check that out if you missed it!
Easter Mantel Decor
Before we get to the tutorial for the Easter bunny garland, I wanted to take a minute to share my Easter mantel decor with you. If it looks somewhat familiar to you, that is because I left up some of the same decorations that I had on my Valentine’s Day mantel.
I swapped out the hearts for bunnies, but essentially it is the same set up. The focal piece is a DIY fluffy bunny that I made and shared a couple years ago. It held up so well being stored away but he is so cute (and neutral in color) that I had to use him again. This time instead of putting him on a wreath, I put him on a circular hyacinth basket wall decor that matches the color of some of the other wood accents on the mantel.
I added this cute bunny ears basket, that I found at the Target dollar spot, in the center of the mantel with some different patterned carrots in it. The bunnies on each side are some that I have had for a while. Come to think of it, I remember they were also found at the dollar spot several years ago. Some good finds are found there, although now it should be called the $5 spot. Right?!
The sides of the mantel, I left pretty much the same, minus swapping out the framed candy hearts for this framed bunny silhouette. I made this years ago, by making a reverse stencil of the bunny on cardstock and putting a piece of fabric behind it. Simple but pretty, huh?
The other side of the mantel was just updated with some colored eggs and a carrot. I love using vintage books in my decorating, and adding the scrapbook paper and lace to them makes them even better! It is so lovely!
Use staple items in your decorating
I think this is a great demonstration of how you can simply use some staple decor pieces in your decorating, and easily change things up for the different seasons and holidays by changing out a few items. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to decorate, just get creative and think outside the big box stores. 😉
Now onto the bunny garland! It really turned out cute and was so easy to make.

- Scrapbook paper of your choice. I used this vintage floral pack from Hobby Lobby that I had on hand. You can get several bunnies from one 12×12″ sheet so you only need 1 page per color.
- Scissors
- Cotton Balls
- 1/4″ Hole punch
- Hot glue gun
- Jute twine
- Bunny silhouette template (get below)
Print out the bunny template
The first step is to print out the bunny silhouette template onto cardstock. When you are printing, make sure you print this pattern at 100% to make sure the size is correct. Every printer is different so just make sure your settings are not set to ‘fit to page‘ or that the box is not checked letting your printer make changes. There are three different bunny silhouettes to choose from, they are all about 5″ in height. You only need to cut out one, you can use it over repeatedly, unless you want to make a garland with all three bunny shapes. You can always use the other bunny templates for another project.
Trace and cut out bunny shapes
After you have the template printed, pick which bunny silhouette you want to use and cut it out.
Next, trace the bunny on the back side of the scrapbook paper that you want to use. With these bunnies, it really doesn’t matter the positioning on the back of the cardstock. If you want a specific pattern on the front of the bunny, you can always trace it on the front side, however, I did not want the ink to show on the paper side.
Now cut out the bunny shape on the line. Make sure you are always using sharp scissors, it makes it easier, especially in the corners. Repeat this step until you have as many bunnies as you need. My garland spans my mantel and I used 18 bunnies. I used 9 different kinds of scrapbook paper so two of each kind.
How to make an Easter bunny garland
Now, using the 1/4″ paper punch, make some holes in the ears. I made them about 1/2″ down from the top of the ear. After you do a couple, you can eyeball it.
Next, take the twine and start feeding it through the holes in the bunny ears. After you have strung on all the bunnies and know how long you want your garland to be, cut the twine. Be careful when you are moving the bunnies along the twine so you don’t rip the ears.
Add the bunny tails
Using some cotton balls, I added bunny tails on the bunnies. My cotton balls were a little oblong in shape so I rolled them in my hands to shape them more into balls and then glued them down onto the bunnies.
Repeat this step with all the bunnies until they all have cute tails!
Hang your garland from your mantel or on a bookshelf or drape it across a mirror. Really, anywhere you want! It it an easy way to bring a little Easter cheer into your home!
I hope you all have a Happy Easter and a great start to spring! Warmer weather is coming. 🙂 Chat soon friends!
