Make a statement with your fall decor by adding some bold colors to make it really stand out. This purple fall decor full of beautiful deep autumn shades of purple and burgundy steals the show.
I’m back today to share the rest of my fall decorations with you! I decided to decorate in the family room with purple fall decor this year. I love the color purple and I saw a purple leaf garland at Hobby Lobby that sealed the deal. Technically, there are also burgundy shades in here too but they blend well together!
Autumn leaves wreath
I was going to share my felt leaves autumn wreath that I made with y’all first and add the decor to that post but it just was going to be too long! So, you get to see the decor and wreath first and I will share the tutorial for how to make the wreath next! π
The wreath turned out really pretty and the felt leaves are amazing! I sewed the veins on each leaf to make them look more realistic.
I tried to find some deep purple felt but the closest I could come was this burgundy color for the leaves. It still works well but I think it would be even better with purple! π I did find some purple floral stems to go behind the leaves though so that was good. Stay tuned to see how to make your very own fall wreath.
Chunky fall garland
Now, can we talk about this gorgeous chunky fall garland? Isn’t it amazing?! I’ll let you in on a little secret, I made it using a Christmas pine needle garland as the base! The pine garland is what gives it the bulkiness.
If you look closely, you can see a little of the pine garland peeking out, but the majority of it is hidden by the other foliage that I added to the garland. I was a little worried that it would look too Christmassy, but just kept adding more and more other florals to it and of course, the pumpkins on top sealed the deal on it being fall.
I found some of the faux florals at Michael’s last year and even used them on my burgundy Christmas tree, but most of the rest came from Hobby Lobby. That includes the purple leaf garland that I added to the pine garland.
I found some other purple flowers that I was going to use in the garland, but liked them better in a vase instead. They make for a nice vignette on the side table. π
I added some coordinating pillows and these DIY fabric pumpkins that I made years ago. They matched perfectly!
On the media stand, I added some other fun fall decorations that worked with the theme. In one of my fall tubs, I found another old garland that had some of the same colors in it and some colored corn that I had previously used on this burgundy and mustard fall mantel. They have lost a few kernels over the years, but have held up surprisingly well!
On the other side, I added more of the corn with a pretty wood pumpkin with some candle holders. I love when everything flows together well, then the room feels cohesive. Ahhhh! So satisfying! π
I’ll be back soon with the fall wreath tutorial. I realize it is probably too late to start for this year, but you can save it to make for next year! Chat soon friends!
